Richmond, Chesterfield to get $400,000 grant for Hull Street Road study

The funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and Department of Transportation will be used to hire consultants who will study a variety of issues, including housing, business development and transportation, for the corridor from about Belt Boulevard in the city to Walmsley Boulevard in the county.

Regional priorities need educational focus, young people say

The Capital Region Collaborative is looking at a wide range of priorities from education and social services to transportation and economic development, but nothing is more central to the vision of the region’s future than creating a quality of life that keeps young people here and draws them from afar.

Planners focus on what younger generations want for Richmond

As Richmond-area leaders ponder strategic priorities for the region, they are beginning to listen to what younger generations say they want in a place to live, work and play. And the answer is they want outdoor recreation, especially centered on the James River; a lively, unstuffy art and music scene; and an urban environment that’s authentic and stylish.
